High Speed Doors in Bloomsburg

Busy openings put a fast door through a lot of trips every day, and each trip relies on sensors that work. We repair, install and adjust high speed doors so they move quickly, come down safely and stop the moment something is in the way.

Fast doors only help when they are safe

High speed doors sit between busy zones: the dock and the floor, the warehouse and a cooler, a clean room and the plant. They save heat, keep dust out and cut wait time for forklifts. But a door that moves at several feet per second can hurt someone if a photo eye is dirty or a light curtain is out of line.

Our work starts with that. Before we chase a speed issue or a torn curtain, we check that the door stops and reverses the way it should. Then we fix what is slowing you down. On a job we lock out power, block off the opening and keep your people clear until the door has been tested.

Repairs and setup we handle on high speed doors

  1. 01

    Torn curtains and broken panels

Ripped fabric curtains, cracked vision windows and dented rigid slats get replaced. On breakaway models we reseat the bottom bar and make sure it can release again the next time it takes a hit.

  2. 02

    Safety sensor testing

We clean, align and test photo eyes, light curtains and reversing edges. We walk an object through the opening and confirm the door stops or reverses every time.

  3. 03

    Drive and controls

We troubleshoot motors, brakes, encoders and variable speed drives. Faults that show up as slow cycles, drifting limits or random stops usually trace back here.

  4. 04

    Activation setup

Radar, motion sensors, pull cords and loop detectors get adjusted so the door opens for traffic and stays shut for people walking past. Fewer false cycles means less wear and less energy loss.

  5. 05

    Interlocks with other dock equipment

If the door opens onto a dock position, we can wire it to your vehicle restraints and dock levelers. That way it stays shut until the restraint has a firm grip on the trailer.

Signs your high speed door needs attention

  • It closes on people or carts

If the door comes down when something is in the opening, stop using it and call us. That is a sensor or control fault, not a nuisance.

  • Slow or uneven travel

A door that drags, hesitates or runs crooked is fighting a worn guide, a bad brake or a drive problem. Left alone, it usually ends in a jammed curtain.

  • Curtain keeps popping out

Breakaway doors are built to come out of the guides on impact. If it happens with no hit, the guides or the bottom bar need work.

  • Ice or frost at a freezer door

Frost along the frame means the seal or the heated perimeter is failing. Central Pennsylvania winters make this worse, and ice on the floor is a slip hazard for your crew.

  • Fault codes you keep resetting

Clearing the same code every morning hides the real issue. We read the history and find what is tripping it.

How a service visit runs

  1. 1

    Start with a phone call

Describe the door, the symptoms and the traffic through that opening. Knowing whether it is a fabric, rigid or freezer door lets us load the right parts before we head out.

  2. 2

    Lock out and block off

We lock out power, tag the controls and set up a barrier so forklifts and foot traffic route around us.

  3. 3

    Inspect and explain

We go over the fabric or panels, the side tracks, the motor and brake, and each sensor on the opening. Then we tell you in plain words what broke, what is getting worn and whether fixing it or swapping it out is the better choice.

  4. 4

    Fix and test

After the repair we run the door through full cycles, test each sensor with an object in the opening and check activation from both sides.

  5. 5

    Hand it back

We clean up, remove the barrier and show your lead how the door should behave. If something else on the dock caught our eye, we tell you.

What moves the cost

Every high speed door job is priced on what we find at the opening. A sensor alignment and a new curtain are very different jobs. We walk you through the cost before we start the work.

Door type and size
Fabric roll-up doors cost less to repair than rigid spiral doors. Taller and wider openings need bigger curtains and stronger drives.
Parts availability
Common sensors and drive parts are easy to get. Older or discontinued doors may need parts ordered or a retrofit kit.
Freezer and cooler doors
Insulated curtains, heated frames and cold-rated motors add to both parts and labor.
Timing and access
Work after hours or around a busy dock schedule takes more planning. High mounting or tight clearances may need a lift.

High speed door questions

Can you fix a door that got hit by a forklift?

Usually, yes. Many high speed doors are made to break away on impact, and we reset or replace the bottom bar, curtain and guides. If the frame or drive took the hit, we tell you what that repair involves before we do it.

Do you work on high speed doors at freezers and coolers?

Yes. We repair insulated curtains, seals and heated perimeters on cold storage doors. We pay close attention to frost buildup, since ice near a door is a hazard for your crew.

How do you keep our staff safe while you work?

We lock out the door, tag the controls and block the opening. Nobody walks through until we have tested the door and the sensors with you watching.

Should we repair or replace an old high speed door?

It depends on the drive, the controls and how hard parts are to find. If repairs keep stacking up, we lay out both options so you can compare. We also handle new door supply through our loading dock equipment sales service.

Do you cover facilities outside Bloomsburg?

Yes. We work at warehouses and plants across the area, including Berwick, Danville and Shamokin. Tell us where the door is when you call.
